P2R1 VLCD DAY 20 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 9.5 INCHES 11

I started a newly received bottle of hhcg today. I bought from the same guy so that I have some consistency. This time I bought two bottles to make sure I don't have a repeat of this past weekend (running out early and taking 1/2 doses to keep it in my system). Since I am going for 40 days now instead of 20/23, I should be worry free. Let's see...I am averaging .5 pounds loss per day so I should be about 20 pounds smaller and 20 inches smaller by the end of November. That is not too shabby at all (will be in the 160s...happy happy days ahead).

I lost another 0.5 pounds overnight...down to 177.0 (YEAH). Today, quite a few people commented that my face is smaller. My chin is a little more defined and my face isn't as "tight and round" as it usually is. I took pics but you could barely see the difference.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 19 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 9 (+0.5) INCHES LOST 10

I have eliminated/reduced quite a few of my medicines on my own during the last 19 days (do NOT recommend this for anyone). One of those medicines was my prescription grade vitamin D (50,000 IU- you can only buy 1000 IU in store) which I was on because of an extreme deficiency (level 5). I stopped because you are not suppose to take fat soluble vitamins (which this is) on the protocol. Over the weekend, one of my symptoms resurface. Severe ankle swelling, tenderness and pain. Overnight, after taking a vitamin my symptoms disappeared. So, I don't want to risk throwing away my doctors progress at increasing my levels so I will begin taking it again as prescribed.

Adding my high dose of Vitamin D will slow my weight loss but at an average daily loss of 0.5 pounds -- I'm good and will not be greedy about losing. Maybe I don't lose 30 pounds in 30 days but the average person only loses 2 pounds a week or 8 pounds in 30 days. Again, I am happy and at a 7 year weight low.

Although my weight did not move this weekend...I had really good measuremetn shifts.

I only gained back .5 of the loss from yesterday's apple day. I hear that is normal because some of that loss was water. Today was a challenge.

I exercised for 10 minutes this morning.

The APPLE DAY was a success! 1.5 pounds overnight. Today was a good day. I did not attend the bake sale which was a good thing. It was a nice and quiet day. Had a chance to sit in Barnes and Noble to read.

By the way...I was so excited...I have a defined chin again.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 14 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 7.5

Weight started going back in the right direction. Another 1/2 pound down. Today was an apple day for me. I wanted to reset my system and it surprisingly went very well. Turns out, eating an apple every two hours or so curved my hunger and any cravings I would have normally had. I already feel lighter. When I returned home, I weighed myself (I am normally at my highest weight after work) and the scale read the same as it did this morning 179.0. I stepped on it about 10 times and it didn't move up. YEAH!


I exercised for 10 minutes this morning.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 13 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 7

3 stagnant days(cheating never pays...darn that Halloween) but...Okay... I am back down to 179.5 today AND lost another 1.25 inches since last measurements. YEAH! Movement somewhere is always good. I incorporated exercise this morning so we will see how that pans out on tomorrow. The exercise will continue all week (10 minutes a day).

I've been doing some research on my Ezekiell tortillas. I saw them on an HCG Vegan Protocal list. The great news is that the Ezekiel tortillas are not too bad a choice. They are made of spouted grains, lentils, barley, etc...turns out these ingredients are what you call resistant starches. They are digested slower than regular starches and and cause a slower and lower rise in blood sugar. They actually act more like a fiber. THERE IS A CATCH: The resistant starch is created when the cooked food is cooled to room temperature or chilled in a fridge...if you heat it back up...you loose your resistant starch and it comes off the okay list and transforms into fat deposited somewhere on your body... I maintained again but the scale fluxed between 179.5 and 180. Not much change there. I may add 15mins stretching/yoga/exercise starting tomorrow. Today, I stuck to the plan pretty exact except I made a fantastic pizza using an Ezekial torilla, tomatoes, shrimp and almond cheese. Yes, I said almond cheese. Bought it from Wholefoods on yesterday. It shreds and melts just like regular cheese just with a little almond taste to it. It was FANTASTIC!!

Nothing much to report today. Trying to get it in before Mad Men...I maintained probably because my fluid intake was not the best on yesterday. Today I made sure I got in the proper amount...actually I was extremely thirsty. I drank an entire liter in about 5 minutes. My lips were super dry and my mouth felt like someone had dried it out with a vacuum. Went to see This is It again and shared nachos with my sister.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 10 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 7

Today, I made it under 180 by a fantastic 0.5 pounds. I almost cried when I saw it on the scale. Of course, I grabbed my camera...two milestones in one week ROCKS!

Trick or Treat with my nieces and nephews was a lot of fun tonight! Let's see...we had a ninja, a ballerina, a clown and a pumpkin. My sister doesn't like pics of her kids online so you will have to take my word for it that they looked sooo cute. (she is in law enforcement so you know they hear all the horror stories so i truly understand).

Anyway, today was another fantastically happy day on hcg.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 9 TOTAL POUNDS LOST 6

Yesterday's gain...GONE! Yeah! The scale tethered back and forth between 180.5 and 181.0 - So exciting. Now I did add a coconut oil pulling last night (I found in the past I released weight when I tried this). I want to release at least 2 pounds this weekend to get below 180. My original plan was to be there 3 days ago but hey...weight loss is weight loss. I am not going to complain at all.

Today was great. I should have taken in more liquids but overall I did pretty well considering we had trick or treat at work. I did sneak a few mini treats but I think I should be okay.

I found myself extremely sleepy last night (my eyes would not stay open) but my rest was well...restful! I woke up refreshed!

Nothing too exciting today, no deep thoughts...today was just perfectly glorious. The only thing that would have been better is if I had the day off.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 8 TOTAL POUNDS LOST: 6 (-1++)

Okay, I warned you yesterday about my Mexican Buffet experience. WELL, the scale sure showed me this morning. But humor me and let me explain myself...

So, I wake up this morning and get on the scale for my pre-bathroom weigh in and it says 183...OH OH comes to mind because yesterday it was 181.5...so I go then come back for my after bathroom weigh in and it says 182.0. That pesky 1/2 pound measurement isn't there but HELLO, the scale went in the wrong direction.

In a crazy effort to get that scale down, I do jumping jacks, stretch, go again, then weigh...181.0 WOW, so I ran to get my camera to show that stretching helps, but the scale says 182.0 again. I shower, go again, stretch, walk the house, weigh again, 181.5.

Which weigh in do I accept. Multiple step-on, step-off moments occur and it tethers 182 and 181.5...so that is why I have the weird -1++ because I can't bring myself to erase the 6. lol

Today was a good day. Lately I have been obsessed (and taking lots of pictures) with clouds. I was in a meeting today and found myself staring out of the big picture window at the clouds and writing down the shapes that I saw (let me tell you things got weird...wish I knew what it meant...a co-worker thinks it is the hcg causing me to hallucinate lol)

My shapes: whale, ship, chihuahua, then it got weird...Mr. Crab's daughter from Sponge Bob, The Grinch laughing on his back, Three turtles swimming like from Nemo, One of the creatures from Where the Wild Things Are...I tell you, it must be from spending time with my nephews and nieces this week. (picture to right looks like someone looking down and picking their nose)

P2R1 VLCD DAY 7 TOTAL POUNDS LOSS: 6

Really excited! Came down another pound. I was sooo excited I had to go get the camera. You must understand...I haven't seen 180 on a scale in about 7 years!!This morning was great...not hungry, sleep is really great and restful (despite going to bed after 2am). Took care of my health, had my free flu vaccine from work (not the H1N1 yet). Just an overall good day...THEN

Went out to celebrate my cousin's birthday...MEXICAN BUFFET...excellent food. I tried to limit my intake to salad with vingear and slight drizzle of italian but the refried beans called me(1 tbsp), then the enchilada's called me (ate the inside), then the quesidilla called me (at 1/2 of a 1/8 of a triangle)...you get the picture. So I mixed meat and also steamed veggies were mixed (brocolli, cauliflower and onions). I don't think I did TOO bad but we will see in the morning. Drinking lots of water tonight! lol

It's not a typo...I maintained this morning (keeping it positive here). I know it was the cow milk in the coffee I had yesterday. It was more than 1 tablespoon. My own fault but I was determined to stick to it today...no cow milk!!! BTW, I am posting early because I have to nap before going to see This is it tonight. I am also waiting on my turkey chili to finish simmering.

The GOOD news is that my pimple from yesterday is GONE!! My liquid intake was right on track, which I thinked helped.

Another pound down...yeah...I am so close to being under 180 for the first time in a loonnnng time! That goal should be reached in about two more days.

Again with the sugar-free coffee today. I forgot my stevia and black coffee was just gross to me. So I am taking yet another chance. No weight effect because of the soymilk BUT I did have a pimple this morning, which I think is a result of something I took in yesterday.

Shockingly, the restaurant grilled shrimp wrap did not stop my weight loss...another pound YEAH!

Today was another test but I did much better this time. My book club meeting was today (read Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol - which was pretty great!). First I had to finish reading and went to Starbucks (had soymilk)...THEN...our meeting was held at Chili's and luckily they have guiltless meals. Hopefully the soymilk doesn't have any effect on my weight loss.

P2R1 VLCD DAY 3 - Total lost to date: 3 pounds

Today was my first real test. I was out and about when the topic of dinner came up. My cousin had somewhere to go so we needed a quick place. Well the choice made was Brewbachers. We both purchased wraps. I had the most healthy thing they carried...Grilled Shrimp Mediterranean Wrap (wheat) with cucumber sauce on the side. I had about 1/2 teaspoon of the sauce on my wrap. I looked up various recipes and figure the only downer of the sauce could be sour cream (and that was if it was a non-healthy sauce). I will know on tomorrow morning if this was a super bad idea. I started feeling really full half way through so I ate just the inside of the other half. (saved some calories).
Here is what I consumed:
Drink - Plain water and lemonade w/stevia
Breakfast: apple
Snack: sliced cucumber with regular vinegar
Lunch: boiled egg, mustard greens
Dinner: Grilled Shrimp Mediteranean Wheat Wrap w/ 1/2 tsp cucumber sauce

P2R1 VLCD Day 2 (actually it was on Friday) Down 2 pounds

Posting for Friday: YEAH, 2 day down...! It was not hard at all. I was not hungry at all. I even forgot to eat my second fruit at my second snack time. If you knew what a nibbler I was throughout the day you would value to importance of this lack of craving.The only interesting thing was the twinge of longing I felt whenever I came across an ad for food while reading a magazine. Other than that, I could see people eating all day and it didn't really bother me.

I am trying to get my nerve up to post my before pictures tonight. It is quite tramatic as I haven't really taken such up close and personal pics in a while...hope I can press the upload button!!!

Drink - Tazo Awake tea throughout the day
Breakfast: tea
Snack: apple
Lunch: tilapia, cauliflower, biscotte toast (I lost weight so veggie oil in toast had no effect)
Snack: ate fruit with dinner today
Dinner: tilapia, mustard greens, biscotte toast, apple, fresh lemonade w/stevia

P2R1 VLCD DAY 1

Well, today was the start of the VLCD. I was not hungry which was great! I think that Ben & Jerry's I had last night gave me just enough storage...

Here is what I consumed:
Drink - Tazo Awake tea throughout the day
Breakfast: one egg white (did I mention I am diabetic...Simeon's protocal allows for one morning protein to stabilize blood sugar)
Snack: apple
Lunch: tilapia, cauliflower, biscotte toast (I will have to see if I lose because toast has veggie oil)
Snack: orange
Dinner: tilapia, cauliflower, biscotte toast

P2R1 Load Day 2

I took today off of work and I am glad I did. I was able to buy my scale, containers and food. I am about to prepare my meals for Thursday and Friday. Tomorrow is the big day...Day one of VLCD.

A pleasantly weird thing happened last night. I had the BEST dream. I even woke myself up laughing so hard. I was being strapped in so that I could fly across a stage for some kind of play or circus...It was wonderful. Lots of laughter. I hope this is a side effect of the hcg. I will have to see if anyone else is having playful dreams.

This morning I had trouble getting myself to eat. Strangely, I was down a pound from yesterday. But by the time I got to my doctors appointment mid-day, I was UP four pounds. Here is what I consumed:
Breakfast: Cracker Barrell-Scrambled eggs, grits with butter, bacon, biscuit with butter and apple jam, a pancake with syrup and butter, and large orange juice
Lunch: 6 inch Subway Italian BMT, baked bbq Lays
Dinner: Burger King Double Cheeseburger, TGIF loaded potato skins, Ben & Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream (~1200 calories ALONE - WOW!!) and oreo cookies

As I take the last bite of my AWESOME ice cream/cookie mixture...I say goodbye to this way of eating.

P2R1 Load Day 1

Today was my first hcg dose and first load day. I thought it would be fun but half way through the day it started making me sick. I think it was the subconscious guilt of consuming so many calories. Here is what I had:
Breakfast: Waffle House-Fiesta Omelet, grits with butter, bacon, toast with butter, large orange juice, lots of coffee with powder cream and splenda
Lunch: Fried buffalo chicken sandwich, french fries, coke zero (I can't help it I LOVE it...tastes like regular coke without the after taste)
Snacks: honey bun, yellow cake with icing
Dinner: 12 inch Subay Spicy Italian with mayo, baked bbq lays (LOVE THEM), sweet tea

POST MAN DELIVERS -- HCG THAT IS!


I was so excited. My Homeopathic HCG drops finally arrived in the mail. I am so excited that load up starts on tomorrow. The best thing is that my TOM should end on tomorrow. I am suppose to wait another day...NOT! Gotta get this thing started while I am most excited. Reading everyone's hcg journals has been so motivating.

On Sunday and today, I did an oil pulling with coconut oil. Amazingly, I lost about 4 pounds overnight. If you didn't know, oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic method that pulls toxins from the body. It heals you of many illnesses. I swished for 20-25 minutes before discarding the now milky liquid in the toilet. You shouldn't swallow it because it is full of toxins. If you do, you will be releasing from the other end for a while.

I was going to post my measurements tonight but decided I better wait until the morning just in case this mornings oil pulling produced any weight loss.

Split ends...more than just a hair story

My hair was going super wild (see pic). So I washed it well and cut the ends today. An early rise is in my morning future, I will be using my new SOLIA which I received today to straighten my hair. It has been quite a while (at least 6 months) since I have done so and the last time I used a Chi...well my aunt used a chi on my hair. I'll post pics tomorrow of the result. I'm an afro puff kinda grl.


Lets go ahead and pull the weight thing to the forefront today...I think I am going to set 10 pound goals for my self to start.


Which is why that cheese, potatoes and butter I had today probably weren't a good idea. Oh YEAH that peach cobbler too...But it was all so sinnfully good!!

Sweet Treats for New Beginnings

Guess I will try this blogging thing again. I need to write out my feelings for me. Growing up down South sometimes you tend to put unncessary limits on yourself to please other people. I just want to get it all out of my system and reveal the person I know is in here somewhere.

To celebrate the start of my journey, I treated myself (THIGHS, STOMACH & OTHER BODY PARTS) to homemade sweet potato pie YUM!
